Opening of Izakaya restaurant and nightclub

July 3rd, 2008

The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa has been a trendsetter in the Atlantic City since the time it was debuted 5 years back. The history is expected to repeat itself with the opening of Izakaya, which is the city’s first Japanese tapas restaurant and nightclub. The meaning of Izakaya in Japanese is pub.

With the debut of the Japanese hotel in Atlantic City another debut is going to happen which is the debut of the Borgata’s celebrity chef, Michael Schulson to have a restaurant at casino. He is known for his appearance on Style Network’s “Pantry Raid” with NBC’s “Today” says that this restaurant is going to be something special.

“When I started this, I said that I don’t want this to be the best restaurant in Atlantic City,” Schulson says. “I want this to be the best restaurant in the country. And I mean that. We are going to have the best food from the Robatiyaki grill, the best sushi on the East Coast, amazing Japanese food out of the kitchen, and a nightlife/lounge scene that will be fun and exciting.”

It is also said that the price of the menu will be affordable than any other casino gourmet restaurants.

He has paid special attention in deciding the menu of the restaurant and included around 125 items. Likewise, he has given special attention to the small details of the interiors of the place and used artistic pieces from Japanese artwork and culture.

He has also arranged for the beers imported from Japan.
Izakaya will have the soft opening during this weekend on July 4, 2008 with the grand opening coming up later on July 8, 2008.
